One Sentence that Changed My Life

Traveling through Utah on our way to Vegas, we stopped for a business meeting, after the meeting was over I needed to wait in the lobby for the rest of our crew to finish up.

I saw this 95-year-old man struggling with the door. After helping him inside he was happy to share with me stories about his great-grandchildren and beautiful wife of 75 years. He was telling me how after all this time he loves her more and more every day.

I said “What? Were you married 75 years? What is the secret to having a long happy marriage for that long? If you could give me one piece of advice; what would it be?”

The man replied: “Your marriage is like a garden. You need to water it and weed it everyday.”
